An evening of songs with Steven MacDougall- Fri Oct 9th

Oct 2015

join us in the pub for a Thanksgiving weekend treat at Governor’s Pub & Eatery. as Steven MacDougall (of Slowcoaster) performs an evening of songs.

Steven MacDougall is the frontman and principal writer for the multi-award winning Cape Breton rock band, Slowcoaster. While MacDougall keeps busy recording and touring with Slowcoaster’s high-energy, danceable tunes — it is by no means his only creative outlet. In 2005, MacDougall began writing with Gordie Sampson for Sampson’s album, “Sunburn”, netting two co-writing credits. In 2007, he began making writing trips to Nashville, co-writing for Gordie Sampson’s record, “For the Few and Far Between” — netting four co-writing credits and the start of a love affair with Music City resulting in more than 75 songs written there in just a year alone.

Many of these songs began the foundation for two award winning solo albums; “Spanish Bay (2007) and “Cruel and Unusual” (2012)

“MacDougall has developed himself into a focused prism for the foibles of human behaviour, and the songs on Cruel & Unusual bring wry clarity to its series of fuzzy memories and messy emotions.”
