Weaving common threads of bluegrass, folk, old-time and country blues, Crowdis Bridge offers an atypical canvas of traditional sounding music that is both timeless and relevant.

This Cape Breton trio of multi-instrumentalists Andrew Fedora, Jason Rudderham and Ben Furey has been entertaining folks in small towns and strange places across the Maritimes since 2008. Their latest album “The Seasons & The Rhymes” explores universal themes of heartache, happiness and everything in between.

Interlaced with tasteful instrument breaks and thoughtful harmonies, they create a colourful palette of sound. Whether you are looking for foot-stomping, light-hearted songs or soul-searching melodies with lyrics that run deep, Crowdis Bridge strikes a sustaining chord that will resonate with any fan of fine music.

Joining Crowdis Bridge for this special Sunday night event in the pub will be good friend Troy Killen with an opening set of alt. country folk tunes to set the tone for the night. Show should start at 9pm sharp so get there early!

Saturday May 19th, Montréal’s most charmingly nerdy loop-rock duo bring their mind bending live show to Governors Pub, With their latest single (Long Drives//Empty Bottles) in tow and a slew of new songs, the pair are ready to cement their reputation for one of the most unique and impressive live shows out there.

Hear the single! – http://cinemalamourtheband.bandcamp.com/

Formed back in the heady days of mid-2009, childhood friends Chris Kavanagh (Drums, Keyboards) and Dorian Scheidt (Guitar, Voice, Pedal Board Tap Dance) set out to satisfy their craving for music that would keep their ADD ravaged attention spans locked in place. Using guitar, drums, voice, and an absurd array of effects and loopers, the pair craft seamless pieces spanning continents and decades of influence and inspiration. Dorian Scheidt’s layered vocal melodies, bass lines and occasionally aggressive guitar riffs are all anchored by Chris Kavanagh’s relentlessly inventive drum performances. Bouncing between moods, tones and entire genres with fluidity and grace, Cinéma L’amour are most assuredly “Something Else.”

Joining them will be locals Hash Jesus; if you like hash and/or Jesus you may enjoy this gritty rock trio made up of scene vets Ian MacDougall, Shane O’Handley and Albert Lionais. Also on the bill is new guit/drum noise rock duo Rad & Subtract.

Come early, stay late, have face melted.
